'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' named Best Popular Film of 2015
It's that time of the year again when the best in cinema across the country in various languages is honoured. The 63rd National Film Awards are back and the winners have just been announced. From the main set of awards, S S Rajamouli's 'Baahubali' has won for Best Film, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Best Director ('Bajirao Mastani'), legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan for Best Actor ('Piku') and Kangana Ranaut for Best Actress ('Tanu Weds Manu Returns'). Speaking about Kangana Ranaut's victory for her double whammy in Tanu Weds Manu Returns, her co-star from the film, said, "In the last seven years that she has been in the industry, she has just grown. It is rare." Bhansali is over the moon with the victory. "Whether it is mainstream, art-house or parallel cinema, the director and cinematographer have toiled hard on the film and I am ecstatic to win the Award," said SLB.
