Children's Film Festival is a unique way of teaching values
Lucknow, April 8 : The
second day of 8th International Children's Film Festival (ICFF-2016) organized by City Montessori School commenced with the inauguration
ceremony at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium as Mrs Aparna Yadav and Mr Prateek
Yadav, Chief Guests of the event lit the lamp. Amongst the elite audiences,
renowned singer Ms Anupama Raag, child actors, 'Taare Zameen Par' fame Darsheel
Safari and 'Toonpur Ka Super Hero' fame Amey Pandya added glimmer to the
festival with their luminous presence. Addressing the large gathering on this
occasion, Chief Guest, Mrs Aparna Yadav expressed her delight and stressed that
events such as children's film festival is a unique way of teaching good moral
values to young children. During
this 9-day International Children's Film Festival, 516 educative children's
films from 96 countries are in the pipeline to be screened, absolutely free of
charge. Today, on the second day of ICFF-2016, a dozen of inspiring children's
films from across the globe were screened at the main auditorium of CMS Kanpur
Road as well as 7 mini-auditoriums including Where are You Hiding, Journey
by Camera, The Chicken, Godzilla, The Golden Frog, Two Idiots in a Boat, A
Journey to the Moon Symphony, The Paper Boy, Pollution Control, Star Taxi,
Tension, The Thirsty Crow, The Blue Glasses, Money Box, Rainbow, Amazing
Brains, The Magician's Boxes, Color of the Sun, Our Environment etc. International
Children's Film Festival provides an opportunity to poor and under privileged
children as well, to watch these films for free so that their weak economic
condition does not come in the way of taking home what this film festival has
to offer. They need to learn good values from these films as much as any other
child. Approximately 10,000 students from various schools and colleges of
Lucknow like NPS Academy, Aashiyana Convent School, Kendriya Vidyalaya,
Radha Krishna Shiksha Sansthan, Janta Junior High School, Jawahar Navodaya
Vidyalaya, Shakti Bal Vidyalaya, Rashtriya Balika Vidyalaya Junior High School,
Seema Sewa Sansthan, Shia Inter College, Navdeep Vishisht Vidyalaya, The
Scholars' School, City Public High School etc. were a part of the film
festival. At a press conference held later, jury members from India
and abroad interacted with the journalists and expressed their views on this
mega event. Speaking to the press, Ms Anupama Raag said that she feels great to
be at the festival which is a noble cause, where children get to watch
motivational films. This effort of CMS is highly praiseworthy. Child actors
Darsheel Safari and Amey Pandya also praised the idea behind the event
